went to lough ree east ballykeeran athlone this weekend,a site i visit a lot.the young lads and myself are big into water sports,we had a great time.John Kelly the owner is one of the nicest and most accommodating people i have ever come accross.there is a lot to do on site and in the area,what is realy nice is first thing on a good morning,is.The Dawn Chorus,absolutely fantastic,family orientated.a good spot will be back

Last Sat 13th We stayed in Lough Ree (east) Caravan and Camping Park Ballykeeran Athlone 090/6478561.Beautiful setting beside the lake.
You would have to see it to belive how bad this site is. one awning touching the next. no hard stands, power leads everywhere,Bins over loaded,not emptyed.
cooker in campers kitchen not working.you walk out of the showers into the carpark,thats if you would chance using them. Wont be going back aido

Thats what we thought of that site when we visited in May 06 .Maby it has improved 100% since then.
