Review by: BigMona    Reviewer's Profile      Date of visit: June 2008     Unit used: Motorhome

We stopped off at this site on our way back east after touring Kerry. The site itself is quite remote but the backdrop is stunning. There are a couple of Hotels near by and we tried both for lunch and a tipple!
There is a pub 200 yards out of the main gates, and behind that is a tourist information office where we were told of some great walks to do in the woods which were wonderful. The owners were very friendly and really made you feel welcome.
Cash only though! As for the facilities, top notch! On our last day, the local radio station broadcast its breakfast show from the site and the owners put on a BBQ. Great place to stay and would recommend it to anyone.
Great reviews about this site which we all agree with

We have stayed in both Glen of Aherlow sites, both are excellent. We will definately be back regularly to both, the decision is are we going for a meal, or a few bevvies. (The little pub down the road is ssssoooo friendly)

Its just a pity that some other campsites in Ireland don't see what everyone is raving about as its a disappointment to have two such wonderful sites within a mile of one another.
